Halfway Reflection

1. The behaviors I have used to keep up with this course is to work hard and actually take this as a serious class to get the most out of it. Another thing that has helped is being organized with all of the interviews that we have had to take and also being creative in choosing a business that I wanted to create.

2. Sometimes in this class when the work starts to add up and you have a decent amount left you want to quit and stop. This is one of the times that I got over something and strived to get of the hump and continued to work hard.

Assignment 13A

"Elon Musk" by Ashlee Vance

1.  Elon Musk is one of the biggest if not the biggest entrepreneurs in the world today. He is the creator of SpaceX as well the electric car company Tesla. Musk grew up with few resources and had to work on his own to pay for his own college. He started in 1990 when he created Zip2 and when he sold it profited almost 22 million.

2. Throughout this article I've observed many competences. He grew up with nothing and always strived to do his best. He also was never afraid to start a business and always followed through with his plan.

3. The part that I was a little confused on was how he got into the University of Penn right after he started at a small university in Canada.

• How were you able to get the funds to start your first business?

5. I think Elon Musk's opinion of hard work was interesting because he's been working hard since he was 17 by working and paying for his college at the same time.

1. Senior that lives off Campus

Living off Campus do you have any problems with the libraries?
Yeah I usually go at night since I work during the day and it is always closing when I get there.

What can the University do to change this?
Extend the hours

How do you try to avoid this problem?
I try and study at home when my roommates aren't home.

Is this working for you?
Yes so far my grades are good this semester.

2. Student who owns a car

How is it for when you go to the libraries?
I try and drive to the public library but when I go I feel like its always busy.

How is it when you go?
I like to get a room and all the rooms are always busy.

Why do you think the University can't have more rooms?
There isn't enough space to build more rooms.

What can they do to fix this?
Use another building on campus for library space.

3. Freshman Business Student

How is your time when you go to the library?
Most of the time I go during the day but it still is tough to get space especially during finals week.

Do you go a lot?
I try and work in my dorm but when my roommate is there I go to the library so probably 3 or 4 times a week.

Why don't you use the libraries at your dorm?
They are always extremely busy and sometimes they are used for different reasons.

How can the University fix this?
Use other space on campus for libraries.

Summary:
Overall I found out that the people who want changes are willing to cooperate and just other buildings on campus that are unneeded and change them into library space. Also the main problems from all 3 of these people was that the libraries are never open late night and they are always packed. The 3 different people all had different characteristics which makes these results more significant.

Idea Napkin Number 1

I am Nick Arcuri and I have a plan for the amount of library space that is on campus. I plan on being very social with this idea and I will convey it to the public in an interesting way.

I am offering more library space on campus for UF college students which will be well needed. This is something that will be very efficient and will be open 24/7.

The students at UF need this and they will want this to happen because of the lack of space on campus to study.

They care about this because this is their future and they will want to have multiple places to go and study.

The main difference about this library compared to others is that it will always be open 24 hours and there will be plenty of space for students.

- They can definitely extend the hours to give the students more time to go

Although they have separate study areas for graduate students hows your experience with libraries?
- There is very limited sections for us so I use the public space but its always busy too

Being a Bio Student do you the lab rooms or libraries?
- I go to the lab rooms for my bio homework but for my other stuff I like to go the library

- I usually go at night and I am crammed in because it is so busy
What should UF do to fix this issue?
- They should some places on campus that are unneeded and turn them into study places.


Inside the boundary:

Who's in it? People who live on campus and use the library frequently
What the need is? For UF students to do well in school they need bigger places to study
Why the need exists? The need exists because the libraries aren't all open 24/7

Outside the Boundary:

Who's in not? People who live off campus and have access to other study areas
What the need is not? An improved library space
Alternative explanations: Some people don't mind being crammed in the library and it bothers some others

Solving the Problem

Opportunity:
The library space on campus just simply isn't enough and the hours that they are open aren't long enough. The lack of space that the University gives college students is just simply not enough. The libraries at UF are only open 24/7 for the week of finals and it should be open 24/7 all year round.

Solution:
The solution for Library space at UF should be extending the hours and adding more library on campus. After interviewing people it is shown that this problem exists on a daily basis and it truly does effect people's lives. Extending the hours longer will make it easier for everyone to go to the library and choose the time they want to go at. During finals week it gets so busy so if there was more space on campus it makes it way easier for everyone.
